The Blue Duck Gallery in Caversham has won an award

Gallery owner Clare Varley, 34, was presented with her prize for winning the Service with a Smile category of the Reading Retail Awards on Friday.

She said: "It was one of the proudest moments of my life. When you work alone it’s difficult to gauge how well you’re doing but the fact that customers have taken the time to vote for me shows that, hopefully, I’m doing well.

"I am incredibly grateful that so many loyal customers and friends took the time to vote for me. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for being such genuinely fun, friendly and supportive customers."

The Hemdean Road gallery has been running for five years and offers a variety of gifts and a framing service.
